1 Mile Run

For all the spots below, please arrive between 1:20-1:30 to receive instructions and have time to go to your designated area on the route (or at the check in table or at the finish line.) Your responsibilities are done when all the walkers/runners have completed the route (approximately 2:20)

Arrive by 1:15 to receive instructions and be ready to check runners in starting at 1:30. Your responsibilities are finished once all the waves of runners have crossed the start line (around 2/2:10pm)

Intersection Sign Holders + Safety Check
Pick a designated intersection where you will assist with road crossing (there will be a police detail at the front of the pack, but you will need to assist with all the runners/walkers coming after) and pointing the runners in the right direction to continue the route. Signage and instructions will be provided for you!

Back of the Pack Runners
Two people will trail all the runners to ensure that they all complete the route. At each intersection you cross, you will inform the Intersection volunteers that their job is done - no more runners coming.

Direct runners into two lanes at the end (one lane is for runners with scan bracelets; the other lane is for runners without bracelets)

Field Games

All games will be set up already. Instructions will be given on how to run the activity. Mainly it involves helping kids to keep an orderly waiting line, telling them when it is their turn, helping kids/families as they participate. And having fun! Please see below for activities and time slots needing volunteers. If the time you want is full, please find another volunteer slot where we can use your help!

Football/Ball Toss
Kids attempt to throw a football or ball through a hanging hoop.

Diamond Run
Must have a timer (either on your phone or a timer device). Time kids as they run around the baseball diamond. Manage and update the leaderboard.

Participants will attempt to toss bean bags into a set of buckets.

Cotton Candy
Training will be given on how to use the cotton candy machine to make this sweet treat and hand it to many smiling faces!

Assist participants in selecting and applying fake tattoos.

Dunk Tank - Attendant
Volunteer teachers will be in the tank, ready to be dunked. All you have to do is help kids keep an orderly waiting line and tell them when it is their turn to throw the ball at the target which, if hit, drops the teacher into the dunk tank!
